John Balliett
Chairman & CEO, Charter One Hotels & Resorts
John Balliett is a seasoned hospitality executive with over four decades of experience leading a successful independent hotel management company. As Chairman and CEO of Charter One Hotels & Resorts since founding the company in 1981, he has built and managed a diverse portfolio of 35+ hotel assets spanning branded and independent properties, including full-service, resort, limited service, and boutique hotels across multiple states.
With a unique background combining a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Grove City College and specialized studies in Optics at the University of Rochester, John brings an analytical, data driven approach to business strategy and operations. His expertise in revenue management, yield optimization, multi location operations, and strategic growth provides valuable perspective on scaling service based technology platforms. John's success in building Charter One from a startup into a multi state operation with 500+ employees over 40+ years offers Search Umbrella invaluable insights on sustainable growth, market expansion, and long term strategic planning in competitive technology markets.
Dr. Robert Holstein, D.O.

Dr. Robert Holstein brings extensive healthcare leadership and governance expertise to Search Umbrella's advisory board. As former Chairmain of the board of Governers of a prestigous medical school, he has overseen the financial, business, and educational policies of a major medical institution. A 1979 graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Holstein has maintained a successful family medicine practice for over four decades, recently retired from serving at MyHealthOnSite in Port Charlotte, Florida, where he has provided care to employees and dependents of Charlotte County government agencies. He has held certification as a provider and trainer in Advanced Disaster Life Support and has provided leadership and service in short term medical missions nationally and internationally.
Board-certified in family medicine and licensed to practice in West Virginia, Florida, and Kentucky, Dr. Holstein's leadership extends beyond clinical practice. He served on the WVSOM Alumni Association Board for 10 years, including six years as president, and was named the school's 2019 Alumni of the Year. As a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association, Dr. Holstein offers Search Umbrella valuable perspective on regulatory environments, professional standards, governance best practices, and building trust in technology platforms serving professional communities—particularly relevant as AI tools increasingly enter regulated industries like healthcare.
Ryan Barone, MBA

Ryan Barone is a healthcare-technology & AI executive with 20+ years leading enterprise commercial organizations and scaling high-tech startups from inception to nine-figure revenue. As Head of Revenue at PaceMate®, he drives go-to-market, partnerships, and commercialization while helping build the world’s largest cardiac arrhythmia database—establishing the AI infrastructure for predictive, data-driven cardiac care.
Previously, Ryan was a sales leader at Intuitive Surgical, where he built and led high-performing teams introducing transformative robotic technologies into healthcare systems. His experience navigating complex clinical, economic, and procurement pathways underpins a repeatable playbook for enterprise adoption of disruptive technologies.
Ryan is a Venture Partner with NextGen Venture Partners and a Venture Capital Investor, advising founders on pricing, channel design, and scalable sales architectures, commercial growth, strategic partnerships and exit strategies. He invests in early-stage (Late Seed / Series A) and Growth phase (Series B / C) companies leading many of the investment rounds in order to maximize capital formation, crowdfunding, institutional fundraising and exit planning. He has evaluated, invested in and exited several emerging HealthTech, FinTech and AI companies.
Beyond industry, Ryan serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Compassion Coalition Inc., reflecting his commitment to community impact and responsible innovation.
Jeremy Joslin, MD, MBA
Physician Executive and Entrepreneur
Dr. Jeremy Joslin brings exceptional expertise in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, and clinical leadership to Search Umbrella's advisory board. Currently serving as Corporate Medical Director for the largest healthcare delivery company in the US, he leads physician-level strategies to optimize reimbursement and reduce claim denials across the enterprise. Concurrently, he serves as Clinical Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University, maintaining his clinical expertise and academic contributions.
Dr. Joslin's 15 year tenure at SUNY Upstate Medical University included progressively senior leadership roles: Emergency Department Medical Director, Medical Director of the Transfer Center and Transitional Care Department, Associate Chief Medical Officer for Capacity & Clinical Operations, and ultimately Clinical Operations Officer overseeing hospital pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as Incident Command Planning Section Chief, demonstrating crisis leadership and strategic planning capabilities. After relocating to central Florida, he served as Chief Medical Officer at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, where he provided executive oversight of clinical quality, operations, and physician engagement.
Board-certified in emergency medicine with an MBA from SUNY Oswego and fellowship training in EMS and Disaster Medicine, Dr. Joslin offers Search Umbrella critical insights on healthcare AI applications, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and building trust with medical professionals, expertise essential for AI platforms entering healthcare and other highly regulated sectors.
